My new wardrobe!

Pictures by Skönt Hemma, Sweden

No, it is not my new wardrobe but I LOVE it anyway. I wouldn't mind to stand in this treasury room each day like a princess guessing what I should wear! Wouldn't you?

First advent!

These trees were the reason for getting up early yesterday morning. I love them! I think they state the approach of Christmas but do not overdecorate the room.
I will do more decorating today and show you pictures of it later.

Meanwhile enjoy a heartwarming first advent!

Idea!

Had this decoration idea yesterday and I am quite pleased with it.
Will have to change "autumn" this weekend into "advent".

Got up early this morning and I will show you tomorrow why.

Wishing you a happy Saturday!

First snow!

Woke up this morning and when I opened the shutters that's what I saw! WINTERWONDERLAND! Now the feeling for Christmas can't be held back anymore!
Let's start decorating!

And that's what came out in our small bathroom!
I will do more over the weekend!

Magic bell!

As I often shout "DINNER" through the apartment making the boys come to the table  - Paul bought this bell. Now we just ring it and like magic the boys appear immediately in the kitchen! On top of all: It looks glamorous! Thank you, Paul!

Have a peaceful day!

Inspirations from the web! So calm!

I like the calmness of this room. It is the room's symmetry that is so attracting I guess.

I love the chairs and the idea of a large and light flooded kitchen. Imagine sitting with family and friends at the table eating and drinking and discussing about life!

My kitchen doesn't have very much storage so this kitchen would come in handy to put away glasses, plates, bowls and pans!

Also here it's the balance that makes this shower calm. I love the creamy white - it is so pure! The shower heads look beautifully old-fashioned and I think I would shower here for hours!
So luckily there would be another one for the rest of the family!

Keep your eyes open for the beauty of your surroundings a have a good day!

Arrival of the new table from Amsterdam!

Jipiii! Our new table has arrived! I was rather scared that it may not suit in the room it was foreseen for but - the whole family agreed that it fits in really smoothly and that it looks as though it had been there since ages! What a great thing!
We are already looking for the next guests to arrive so we can inaugurate the table.
In fact next Saturday we will have friends for dinner so not long to go!

Have a lovely and enjoyable day!

The British Cheese Centre of Switzerland

Last Saturday we went to the Christmas Bazaar at St. Ursula's Church in Berne and had a homecooked British Christmas lunch. We bought some typical British food which are hard to get in Switzerland. On this occasion we had the pleasure to taste British cheeses imported by the British Cheese Centre of Switzerland. All I can say is: If you like cheese then buying from them is a MUST! We took a piece of  the Raw milk Isle of Mull home (according to Michael Jones the best Cheddar in the world!) and when eating it we got blown away! It was like a firework in our mouthes and I regret that we did not buy more. We are planning to visit them in Zuerich (Im Viadukt Markthalle) and fill then our bags. Have a look on their homepage - they organize regular cheese suppers and Ploughman's lunches - they even cater at home!

Wishing you a tasty start into the new week!

Labour and wait

Ten years ago, Simon Watkins and Rachel Wythe-Moran quit their corporate jobs to create Labour and Wait, a homeware store that stated a quiet revolution in the world of interiors. From a tiny shop in East London, the pair focus on the importance of the product itself, finding the inherent beauty of dustpans, brushes and other functional essentials. As a shop, Labour and Wait is a must-visit. As a way of living, the clever simplicity of Simon and Rachel's ethic is a lesson to all. (Quote from Cos Magazine 2010)

Have fun and a relaxing Sunday evening!

Today is my day off and I am trying to get some order in my things.
I started off with the book shelf and that is what came out.
I am pleased with the result and will have a nice cup of coffee now!

Have a good day!

Appley Hoare Antiques

I have been following the website of Appley Hoare Antiques since long. Their findings are incredible and I love studying their catalogue. Surely you will like it as well.

Damnilikethat!

Pictures by anthropology

Have a look at this page! It certainly gives a boost to one's mood - the weather outside is cold and miserable enough! Imagine sitting in these chairs with a good book in the hands...  GREAT!
