The building was designed by Jean Nouvel.

Last Tuesday afternoon I visited my mum in my hometown Lucerne. Here a few impressions of that late afternoon/early evening.

I hope you have time to walk through this Monday with interest and joy!

Autumn impressions

A few impressions of my autumn decoration at home.
The weather is more springlike though. I do hope that the cold will soon set in.
I love cold days when one can wear scarves, gloves, warm jumpers and hats.

I hope your weekend is spookey.
We do not celebrate Halloween in Switzerland although some people have started to do so.

Caddies

Here in in the centre of Berne and I guess in many places in Switzerland people do their shopping by using caddies. (It is a fantastic exercise and it does not pollute the air!) In one of the shops in the old town the caddies are lined up in front when their owners are  in the supermarket. One of my sons suggested to post about this because these trolleys are so colorful and somewhat cheerful. And he is right! You can literally see how these caddies chat to each other and disclose the secrets of what they have in their bellies when rolling home. By the way: Our family has two caddies. Sometimes when our shopping list is long, hubby and I  take one each. Can you guess which one is mine on these pics? Yes, correct! It is the one with the black and white stripes... Did you notice? There are people who secure their trolley with a safety lock! Mine has (so far) never been stolen and I use one since over twenty years...

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend!

Ina's and Anton's fruit and vegetable garden

I received this tableau from Ina and Anton. They are dearest friends from Basle with a beautiful vegetable and fruit garden with a little gardener's house. A paradise where they often invite us for delicious homemade dishes served with superb wine. It is always so pleasing to spend a hot day underneath apple trees, listening to humming honey bees and happily singing birds. When leaving in the evening Ina always packs a bag with salad, herbs, summer squash, potatoes and... to take home. On top of all these goodies she puts a bunch of all those flowers growing in the garden then. I was told that even in winter time when it is mild they have lunch in the sun...

Because I love all this so much they painted this pic for me sometime ago! Now I can look at all the treasures any time I feel like. How about that?

Exactly one year ago I published my first post. It was a year which has sharpened all my senses. I look at my surroundings in a more attentive way and this has enriched me a lot. It is also you, dear blogger friends, who have kept me going and I would like to say THANK YOU SO MUCH for encouraging me and visiting my blog.

This afternoon there will be a little giveaway so stay tuned!

Hugs,
