We are having a great time here in London and are enjoying it to the fullest!

Time flies huh?

It is my Birthday today - again - and I shall go to Regent Park for jogging, have a delicious English breakfast, spend the day maybe in Tate Modern with my men, have an aperitif somewhere fancy and then go out for an Indian dinner!

Taking off for London!

Finally we are traveling to London and will hopefully have time to visit  all the places you suggested!

Ivy berries or Hedera helix

I saw them on my way to work and had passed them many times 

always fascinated by them. 

Yesterday some of them absolutely wanted to come home with me. 

In their simplicity one nearly overlooks them but the combination 

of that lush green and the deep blue is so perfect  - it makes my heart sing!

Hannah's bike

When I come home and I see this lovely, cool, brilliantly styled bicycle at our doorstep, I know Hannah is visiting us. It is so cheerful in color and so very nicely old-fashioned that it lifts my spirit upon my return home. I believe it is one of those things which are hard to find these days or then only findable when one is ready to spend a lot of money.

Who Hannah is? She is my younger boy's girlfriend and a true sunshine!

A big squeeze to all of you who have given me good advice of what to see and what to do in London.

 I'll report what we saw and hope to take a few good photographs.

Any good hints and ideas?

In a few days we will be taking off for London! I have been there several times and I am very much looking forward to another visit. 

Still, the city is so huge that there are certainly places which are worth a visit but are not listed in any travel guide. If you do have such good hints and ideas which you would not mind to share, I should be most grateful to hear about them!

Rearranging things...

I did some rearrangement in our dining room yesterday and here is a little sequence of it.

 The linen is antique and a very much appreciated present from my dear friend Maja.

Wohoo! It's Friday and we are invited to the theater tonight!

A movie to remember

Browsing through the web I found these photographs of the movie "Out of Africa". 

I remembered how fascinated I was by the story, the actors, their clothes, nature, 
the breathtaking shooting and how overwhelmed I was with my feelings.

Now about 25 years later  I still fall for Meryl Streep's and Robert Redford's charm
 and that beautiful house with its wonderful furniture.

I am planning an evening watching the movie again and breath in it's grandeur. 

First I have to buy a huge package of handkerchiefs...

I'll be back tomorrow! Hope you too!

Lazy afternoon

 

 

I was off work yesterday afternoon and as it was freezing cold, 

I could not resist cuddling up on our family sofa bed, 

reading magazines and feeling very fortunate.

Life is good. Definitely.
