First snow!

Here a picture when it started snowing yesterday afternoon:

And hereafter two photos I took at 06.40 am - a white surprise! Pure happiness!

A Sunday ahead of me with candlelight, warm tea, feet sticking in woolen socks,
me wrapped up in blankets on the sofa, with lots of cushions and a few
X-mas picture books on the coffee table to get in the mood!

BUT... before all this pleasure I am meeting a girlfriend at 8 am
to do some jogging in winter wonderland

Cozy Sunday to you all! Enjoy the extra hour!

La Pobbia - Ballenberg part III

La Pobbia is, until now, the most extensive project ever realised at Ballenberg. The estate belonged to the widespread economic system of the so-called rural capitalism in Northern Italy. From the middle of the 18th century up to the 20th century, 21 hectares of land were farmed.
If you are interested to learn more read here.

Tobacco leaves drying under the roof. I adore the laundry drying in the sun!

I love long tables with lots of space for dishes and food and people - I know in those days food was scarce though.

The museum is decorated with lots of love and an eye for the detail. Many beautiful, valuable items are being displayed. I was a bit worried about them as they could easily packed in a bag or rucksack and carried out of the museum. A museum attendant explained me though, that hardly ever anything gets stolen! Hear, hear! There are still some honest persons on this world!

Italy makes me always hungry and the same applies to the Italian part of Switzerland.
Luckily it was time for some air-dried meat from the region and a glass of white Merlot wine:

We will pay a visit to the neighbors soon and will follow our nose:

Before a sunny Sunday ends... - Ballenberg part II

I would like to show another house in the open air museum Ballenberg. This time it is a big farmhouse from Therwil Basle (Northwestern part of Switzerland). According to the date over the main entrance on the threshing room portal, it was build in 1675. It belonged to a farm with extensive landholdings. Read more here.

I remember my grandparents
having such a bed in the living room

The kitchen - it is not easy to cook on stoves like this -
there is always the danger of burning and overcooking your  meal

Tomorrow I will take you to a house which represents the Italian part of Switzerland.
It's in this direction...

See you then!

The arrival of one cupcake and three matryoshka dolls

These pretties arrived yesterday in my post.
A hand-sewn cupcake and three hand-sewn matryoshka dolls.

And the story goes like this:

I had taken part in a giveaway by Manuela of Lilla Svalan
You know what happened I won a prize! Yep!

Here some photos of the unpacking of the parcel:

What's behind the lovely napkin?

Revealing the secret...

Matryoshka doll No. 1

No. 2

The smallest - No. 3

Pretty cupcake without calories but lovely flowers

And here Manuela's proof that it is all made by her:

Such lovely things made with much love and care! I am so lucky!
I hope the matryoshka dolls will like me and my home!
Thanks a lot, Manuela! I am sending you big kisses and big hugs!
Visit Manuela's blog! I admire here a lot - she seems to be a strong woman with lots of power
 - there is always some crafting, gardening, renovating in her house going on.

Happy Saturday evening! Enjoy those special hours!

Spring and Green Day 18

Last Friday I cleaned up my balcony - the plants finished blooming and turned brown. Some of the soil I put in an Ikea bag as I thought I could still use it for the winter planting on the balcony and in the garden later on. Look what happened: I had the bag in a warm place and the seeds of the morning glory thought it to be spring and started growing! The bag is full of little plants and look so pretty that even my two boys said that I should blog about it! Here I go then... and I am linking up with Green Day 18 at Raindrops and Daisies.

I hope you are having a great day!
