Alex MacLean is an American photographer who takes pictures from the air since 30 years. He knows vast parts of the US just from aerial views. Now he has explored New York from an absolute different angle as you can see. I find these photos amazing. There seems to be a city in the city!

It looks like a very interesting books! And this, eco friendly usage of so much unused space is just perfect - now that the tV antenas are not needed anyway ; )

ReplyDeleteGreat pictures. This book should be very interesting. It is design to create the unsightly rooftops. Ours are empty and only show concrete.

Dear Christa,
ReplyDeleteNew Yorkers can ve very creative with their rooftops and decking! Some of them have turned their rooftops into vegetable gardens, you know?
But, Christa, I just love being down there, with the crowd and the traffic, and look up, towards the Empire State Building... it's so very beautiful... and then walk into Macy's, which is just across the street, to buy some clothes, or perfume, or just to have some lunch!
My husband usually leaves the car in a little side street (you find parking after 7.30) and there, is my favourite: a very tall and thin skyscraper, very dark and shiney... stands on its own and, if you look up, you feel like you've been drinking too much Champagne! So beautiful!
