A sweet day

We had a sweet and hot day on the balcony today with cherry and redcurrant tart!

Let the sunshine in (your heart)!

Pink is everywhere

At the moment it's the color pink I can't resist!

Tomorrow we are taking off for Scotland!
The weather doesn't promise much sun but we are all
so happy to have a break and a rest from daily life!

Have a good time with whatever you are doing !

Looking ahead...

into next spring! I bought these bulbs last Saturday and will plant
them end of October for a colorful joy in March and April 2013.
I was planning to buy white tulips only but then thought how
sad this would be after a long and dull and dreary winter to only have
white in the pots!

Hope your week ahead looks bright and cheerful!

Red dots on a summer day

our table on the kitchen balcony needed a bit of decoration....

so I bought a piece of plastic, marked the lines right on the table,
then cut the marks with my pinking shears...

et voilà - here is the result!

It's a lovely and summery day outside
- a day I am enjoying on my balcony with my feet up and face in the sun!

Hope your feet are resting as well!

Give it a try - Greenday 11

Olympia of memories with old things encouraged me to take part in
the Green Day by Fiona of Raindrops and Daisies so here I go.

I hope you enjoy my canned gherkins.

Happy last day of August!
Sigh.

AVOCA gardens

AVOCA also means love for gardening. There is even a little roof top garden in their Dublin shop. Hereafter you'll see some pics of their garden near Wicklow where AVOCA's headquarters are based. BTW this garden was once attached to the house of Jameson's Whiskey family:

You all noticed: I am totally MAD about AVOCA!
Tomorrow and on Friday another post about this paradise and on Saturday a giveaway!

Thank you all for your lovely comments (I'll come back to them - I am still catching up with my work in the office) and I hope you are also a bit hit by this acute AVOCA flue...

Wholesome snacking

Here raspberries are not really in season yet. In the shop the vibrant red caught my eye though and made my mouth watering so they came home with me. I ate them like a little girl (I had a red tongue and the area around my mouth was red too) but before I managed to take a photo for you. At least it was a wholesome snack! Good luck (or bad luck?) I had no tub of crème fraîche in the house...

I never seem to get enough...

I'm in heaven

I guess after seeing these photographs you are in heaven and feasting on those colors and flowers and arrangements! At least that's what I do... but you can go on if you visit the website of flair flower boutique. Judica and Urs Altmann own a farm close to Berne where all their flowers are grown and these artful arrangements are made. Their shop is just a stone's throw from where I live and therefore frequently visited by me. Hereafter some photographs which I have taken of their displays outside their flower boutique up the road:

It's all so lush and plentiful - that's how I imagine heaven...

For all those who speak German I gladly publish the Garden manifest by Sabine Reber who is a very well-known gardener here in Switzerland and who has just started a blog (unfortunately only in German although she speaks English perfectly. She has lived in Ireland for a very long time and in fact that is where she became fond of gardening).

So I hope I have made up for not blogging for two days and also that I have sweetened your Monday.

Have fun, keep your track and be happy in whatever you do! Live is so precious and beautiful!
