Attention au chien

Our friends Ina and Toiy own a fabulous garden house on a garden plot on the border Switzerland/Germany..
Since a very long time they have this little toy dog. I think it does not even have a name.
However, as a little boy our younger son was fascinated and scared by it, as it was leashed like a big and dangerous dog and on top there was this sign "Attention au chien" (French) which means "Beware of dog".
Upon our return home he would do the same with his plushies.
Up to this day he has not forgotten about it and we laugh and joke about it.

Visiting Ina and Toni in June we all remembered this story and thought it would be worth a post.
So here you go! Meet that little dog! The painting on the door was done by Ina - it is still beautiful after all these years.

I hope you are spending this day happy and smiling with your beloved ones.

A moment of peace

... while projecting your thoughts into this garden. It's the paradise of our friend Ina.

To me this pic is a like a painting and therefore will not add any other photo.
I took more shots and will publish them on another occasion.

I hope you are all having a sunny day.
To my dear readers from the States:

Happy 4th of July!

Sweets

Some sweets from my friend Ina. Her paintings are always cheerful, colorful and full of life!
The tart with the pansies resembles a cake from Anna of  "A taste of Italy" which I baked after her recipe. See here.

I hope your SUN-day tastes sweet!

Flowers in painted pots

In the house we live in is one window beside the exit to the garden. It's a lovely window with a beautiful mantlepiece. It's passed by everyone leaving the house or coming home. During Christmas time I had some deco there and until last week there was still a plain wreath hanging. Now I put some painted pots there (hand-painted by our friend Ina) and planted some spring flowers. Don't they look pretty and make hope for the greenery and sweets scents that are to come soon?

We are having visitors since Friday - which is great but keep me busy!

So I am off again - see you tomorrow!
Hopefully I'll have more time then!

Get that fresh look...

When I have days I look tired due to lack of sleep, long nights with friends or just because life is taking me hard I have a remedy: Egg yolk, olive oil and honey! It may sound a bit kooky to you but it helps! Just whisk an egg yolk, good olive oil and good honey together and apply the paste with a brush to your face and neck. Lay down and put some slices of cucumbers on your eyes, listen to your favorite music and maybe even drink a glass of bubbly champagne... after 30 minutes you will be refreshed and rosy... your skin will be subtle and soft for a few days... no preservatives, no chemicals... and nearly no costs... I can only say: TRY IT OUT! It is a recipe I received 20 years ago from Ina and since then no other mask has ever touched me...

Wishing you a relaxing day... hope to meet you tomorrow again with rosy cheeks!
