Stravinsky Fountain

To me an extra special of our visit in Paris:
The Stravinsky Fountain! It was created by Niki de Saint Phalle (French) and Jean Tinguely (Swiss) in 1982/83 and is located next to the Centre Georges Pompidous (another highlight). It consists of sixteen sculptures all referring to the most important compositions of Igor Stravinsky.

I noticed only now that my attention was absolutely drawn to Niki's figures!
I did not take one pic of Jean's iron sculptures!

Anyway: Wishing you a happy day!

  1. Hello Christa:
    This all looks very jolly.

We have an example of the work of Jean Tinguely here in the Museum of Contemporary Art in Budapest.

  3. Hi Christa! We got back last night. I have two cards for you, which I didn't send, as they are really ugly!So... I'll send you one from England!

I can see you had a good time in Paris, taking photos of really colourful sculptures (never mind the boring metal ones!)

I wonder what Stravinsky would make of these sculptures, if he could see them? Would he be flattered? They are cheerful, anyway!

Glad you could go to Paris!
