Vernal flowers

Together with five friends my son is renting a garden. It is the first spring they are trying out their gardening skills. About two weeks ago he brought home some tulip bulbs. They had tiny leaves  and looked rather weak. I put them in a vase but did not expect them to bloom. As you can see from the photo I was proofed wrong: Yesterday - just in time for spring - two wonderfully red flowers appeared and greeted me!

I am confident: Even if the weather does not look like it -

SPRING IS ON IT'S WAY!

  1. Hello Christa! I love tulips and like to have them round the house. I think it's good for young people to become interested in plants and gardening. Nature brings out the best in people!

    WHERE IS SPRING, THIS YEAR?

  3. How nice that he's gardening. I think there must be a great metaphor hidden in the tiny leaves that bloomed so beautifully!
Oh, the promise of spring! (We still have snow on the ground.)

  7. Hello Christa! Do you know, the word Tulip is thought to be a corruption of the Turkish word 'tulbend' for turban. They're Beautiful!
