Little sneak peek on

the decoration of our dining table. 

It is a warm and sunny day again today and my first day off to work after a long Whitsun weekend.

As the sun is shining so nicely I am more often outside than at the computer.

The weather forecast is bad for Thursday and the days after so I'll be back latest by then... 

Art on the table

 

Actually I prefer white when setting the table (most of the time anyway) as it doesn't interfere with the food. These table clothes and place mats are so irresistibly cheer- and colorful and mood elevating though, that I could well imagine setting the table with them. Especially now that one prefers to sit outside with family and guests!

It is Aline Telek of Fil Rouge who creates them. She is a professional graphic designer from Switzerland who is very much inspired by cooking. She loves textures, colors and odors of fruits, vegetables, nuts, cheeses, sausages... and finds joy in eating. I think her work expresses that in a pretty and appealing manner.

Today I shall spend some extra time on setting the table.

Our walk today...

Hubby and I very often walk along river Aare - 

it is a way we very well know and yet it surprises us everytime with something new. 

The landscape changes as the seasons go on.

Peonies

In German we call peonies "Pfingstrosen" which means "roses of Whitsun". 
The perfect flower for today! 

I am sure you agree - they are wonderful flowers with a special charm. 

My mum had deep red and pink ones in the garden so they have accompanied since my childhood. 

It was the start into summer when they bloomed.

 That's what it is like at the moment: Summery!

 Mild weather, soft winds, late sunsets, swallows breezing along

 and smells of fresh grass in the air. 

Hours and moments one must savour.

Take a deep breath and enjoy your life!
